KUČKA

KUČKA is the solo project of electronic producer and songwriter, Laura Jane Lowther. Ten years after her first release in 2012 – an entirely self-produced, eponymous EP – Lowther has firmly established herself as a standout producer and vocalist; she has worked alongside a number of high-profile collaborators, producing and singing on tracks with artists as diverse as Flume, A$AP Rocky, Vince Staples, SOPHIE, Fetty Wap and Kendrick Lamar.

KUČKA released her second EP, Unconditional, in 2015, expanding her sound with more intricate compositions and intimate songwriting. Her seminal debut album, Wrestling, arrived in 2021 via LuckyMe/Soothsayer, to widespread acclaim from triple j, Rolling Stone, NME, The Guardian, SPIN, Exclaim!, Bandcamp, FBi Radio (Album of the Week) and more, touting KUČKA as “unlike anything else coming out of Australia right now” (Red Bull Music). Lowther’s earnest depiction of her experiences across love and growth throughout the album, a product of her life as a global citizen (UK to AUS to USA) and queer identity, infuse her work with intimacy and “digital soul” (FACT Magazine).

2022 has seen further growth for KUČKA with singles ‘Messed up’ and ‘Not there’ seeing continued, international praise and playlisting (Spotify: New Music Friday US, Front Left (Cover), Pollen). These singles follow her recent string of live performances including supporting Flume at Coachella and across the US and UK where they performed their recent Palaces collaboration, 'ESCAPE'. In June of this year, she debuted an audio-visual experience in collaboration with Bootleg Comics at the Sydney Opera House as part of Vivid Live. She also performed in Tasmania as part ofDark Mofo, where she had two headlining shows (DJ + Live Set). KUČKA’s latest collaboration with Dom Maker (James Blake, Mount Kimbie) on 'f1 racer' was released as part of Mount Kimbies LP MK 3.5: Die Cuts | City Planning (featured alongside Danny Brown, Wiki).
