GL Share New Single 'Endlessly' & Announce Forthcoming Album

Melbourne-based pairing GL (aka Graeme Pogson and Ella Thompson) release their latest single “Endlessly”, out now. The track is taken from the duo’s vastly awaited sophomore album, You Read My Mind due September 25 via Pool Records.

Funk-derived bass kickstarts “Endlessly” with a low-slung swagger, as Ella’s formidable vibrato makes for divine accompaniment. A reverb-laced kick fits between soaring keys and Ella’s spoken word musings on the effects of being endlessly in love.

Ella Thompson says on the single: “‘Endlessly’ is a love song, a celebration of love. Sharing the ups and downs... There are endless ways to show that - this is one. I was listening to a lot of Sade and had the 'Diamond Life' album on repeat. If you’re having a tough one, remember there’s always someone looking out for you and that is precious.”

Recorded at the band’s Swimming Pool Studio in Fitzroy, GL’s forthcoming studio album You Read My Mind reaffirms a strength for honing a sound distinctly their own, while broadening their palette in an effervescent exploration of life and its frustrations. Also featuring the soul-melting euphoria of previous single "Pistachio", the full-length album is now available to pre-order ahead of its release via Pool Records.

GL have shaped a reputation as firm icons within the local electronic music landscape, from 2013’s Love Hexagon EP to acclaimed 2016 debut album Touch and their 2017 double A-sided 12” Destiny/Reflect. The duo’s esteemed international recognition also precedes them, counting accolades from The Guardian, CLASH Magazine, i-D, Fader, V Magazine and XLR8R on top of over 4 million online streams across their discography. As well as receiving extensive airtime on BBC Radio 1, Touch was also highly-praised on the home front, being awarded feature album/album of the week with FBi Radio, SYN FM and Radio Adelaide. In 2019, GL unveiled “Night Habit” alongside their first headline show in two years, before following up with the effervescent “Contagious” and returning in 2020 with “Pistachio”, picking up more acclaim from the likes of NME, Purple Sneakers and Triple R.

Between selling out shows across a national and international tour of their first album back in 2016, GL have performed at some of the country’s most distinguished festivals including Splendour In The Grass, St Jerome’s Laneway Festival, Meredith Music Festival, Pitch Festival, Panama, Lost Paradise and Beyond The Valley. Most recently, GL brought their live spectacle to the fundraising efforts of Melbourne’s Music That Matters bushfire relief event, plus PBS’s Sounds Like Home series and live stream festival, Isol-Aid this year.

As one of Australia’s most treasured electronic duos gear up to release their second album, sink in to the glowing euphoria of “Endlessly” today.
