Nabihah Iqbal is a master curator of sound, operating at the intersection of electronic music, classical composition and contemporary culture. Her work is defined not by genre, but by intent - a practice shaped by deep listening, historical awareness and an instinctive understanding of how music moves people.
As a DJ, Iqbal delivers immersive, slow-building sets that reveal a fluid mix of post-punk, shoegaze and rare global cuts within a broader club context. Her selections are measured and intentional, designed to reveal themselves over time. On the dancefloor, her sets resist spectacle, favouring a sense of collective immersion.
This sensibility extends across her wider practice. Her 2023 album DREAMER received widespread international acclaim, reinforcing her position as one of the most distinctive voices in the left-field global electronic scene. Alongside her own releases, Iqbal has become a trusted presence across global radio, holding a long-running residency on London’s NTS Radio, hosting shows across the BBC, and presenting a monthly programme on New York’s The Lot Radio. Through these platforms, she has carved out a unique space as a DJ whose practice moves fluidly across genre, geography and era.
Iqbal has brought this approach to some of the world’s most respected dancefloors and festivals, including Berghain, Fabric, Nowadays, Public Records, Glastonbury, Dekmantel, Meredith and Dark Mofo. In parallel, her work continues to expand beyond the club. In 2025, she premiered her first classical composition, What Psyche Felt, commissioned by Manchester Collective and performed to a sold-out audience at London’s Southbank Centre, signalling a new chapter that further dissolves the line between electronic and classical worlds.
Her multidisciplinary sensibility also extends into visual art, performance and curation. In 2023, Iqbal was appointed Guest Director of Brighton Festival, England’s largest multi-arts festival, a role that reflected her instinctive ability to bring together artists, ideas and audiences across disciplines.
Now, Nabihah Iqbal returns to Australia and New Zealand. Last seen performing live, she returns this time behind the decks, presenting her DJ practice in full: cohesive, considered and quietly powerful. Music for the dancefloor that rewards attention, presence and curiosity.
